MCAEL Supports and Improves the Delivery of Quality English Instruction
In Montgomery County the network of English providers is diverse. The nature of the field is that some programs are small, immigrant-run, community-based programs, while others are more developed adult education organizations. Thus, the program support that is required is diverse and evolving as new classes and programs are born, and as needs and resources develop.
MCAEL supports this work through capacity building, professional development, grant and award making, and pedagogical tools based in best industry practices.
MCAEL publishes newsletter-format announcements that include information such as:
• MCAEL workshops and trainings
• Local professional associations and training opportunities
• Adult English literacy news and events
• Instructional and programmatic resources
• Community partnerships and Community Learning Groups (CLGs).
