Workshop - Strategies For Teaching Limited English Proficient (LEP) Students

Jun 05, 2019 - 01:00 pm

Working with limited English proficient students can be one of the most rewarding teaching experiences; it can also be one of the most challenging. This workshop will look at some practical aspects of teaching these learners and address the following questions:

  •  Who are our LEP students?

  • How do I determine my students’ levels?

  • What topics should I cover?

  • What approaches and techniques should I use?

  • How do I design an effective lesson?

  • How do I assess progress?

Join Elise Couper as we investigate the answers to these questions and have some hands-on practice putting together materials you can use in your own class.

Location: 9211 Corporate Blvd, Rockville, MD 20850. This conference room is in the building adjacent to Montgomery College Central Services. Parking is towards the rear of the building.
