Linkage to Learning at Maryvale ES
Linkage to Learning (LTL) is a school- and community-based health and human service program that also provides enrichment for students and their families. Through a grant from MCAEL, Linkages to Learning at Maryvale ES offers ESOL classes to parents for non-native English speakers. They enjoy learning English through an English conversation class for which a book recommended by MCAEL is used to guide the curricula. The teacher uses the book to guide learning through conversation.
Position Description
LTL at Maryvale ES is seeking an instructor for an 8-10-week online Conversational English class. Classes will be offered via Zoom and will meet three times per week, Monday and Wednesday 6-7:30pm and Friday, 5-6pm.
Qualifications:
- A passion for teaching, and an ability to engage, inspire, and teach adult learners from multicultural backgrounds.
- Experience teaching English to adults
- Experience using Zoom for instruction.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills
- Fluent in Spanish.
- Experience using digital curricula.
- Experience using tools for online engagement and collaboration.
Compensation: $27 per instructional hour. This is a contract position with no benefits offered.
