Of course, as instructors, we want to create a classroom where all students are learning and progressing. Sometimes it is difficult to accommodate the learning needs of adult ESOL learners with varied educational experiences, learning needs, and lived experiences that impact how they are able to engage in your classroom. How can you make your online or in person classroom more accessible for learners with differing abilities? During this workshop, Kate Rolander, will teach strategies and tools for making your classroom a more inclusive space through:
· Increasing your disability awareness and knowledge of ways disabilities can show up for adult English language learners
· Utilizing strategies for making your physical and virtual classroom more accessible and comfortable for diverse learners
· Implementing strategies for making classroom content accessible to a variety of learners through Universal Design for Learning
