In Workshop #2 for Helping Students Stay - Retention in the Adult ESOL Classroom we will continue the conversation about what teachers can do to improve student persistence. During the workshop we will:

share specific retention strategies that your colleagues have been using and plan to try next term

discuss high impact strategies for retention\

explore a new resource to help teachers investigate evidence-based strategies that directly address barriers their students face

concentrate on one of the high impact retention strategies - goal setting - and do a virtual tour of ready-to-use goal setting resources.

identify specific steps you plan to take in implementing your chosen retention strategies for next term, using a goal setting approach called force-field analysis.
