As adult ESOL professionals we engage with learners from a broad range of cultural and personal backgrounds. Being aware of (and not being aware of) our own cultural lenses and those of the learners in our classes can have a big impact on learner safety and belonging, engagement and educational outcomes.

In part two of this interactive workshop, with Victoria McWane-Creek, we will learn the core competencies of Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT). We will reflect on how we have applied the principles we learned during part one then explore how the core competencies can guide us in continuously improving our instruction.
